Council has resolved to establish a new community event – Peppermint Grove Community Day. This will be an event held every two years around the 4 October, which is the date that the Shire was inaugurated as the Peppermint Grove Roads Board in 1895. The first event will be on 4 October 2025, which will align with the Shire elections later in October. Arrangements are yet to be finalised, however the event could have naturalisation ceremonies for any residents gaining citizenship, awarding of Citizen /Group/Event of the Year awards, a thank you for outgoing Councilors, introduction of candidates for the upcoming Council election and possibly a session on the history of the Shire.
Council will no longer be participating on the joint Australia Day awards event with the Towns of Cottesloe and Mosman Park with the focus now on an event specifically targeted to Shire residents.
