Local Planning Scheme 4 - Amendment No. 2 (Lots 24 and 26), 12 Johnston Street, Peppermint Grove

Notice is hereby given that the Minister for Planning did not support the Council's resolution to recode Lot 24 and Lot 26 (No.12) Johnston Street, Peppermint Grove from Residential R15 to Residential R40.

The Scheme Amendment was assessed by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) to have planning merit in a way that facilitates the State’s prescribed infill density targets at a higher coding than that previously sought by the Shire.

The Minister has directed the Shire to readvertise the Scheme Amendment with a higher proposed Residential R80 coding. Planning legislation dictates that the Minister's direction must be followed.

Submissions may be lodged through the below form or in writing to the Shire of Peppermint Grove on or before 17 November 2024.  Submissions should include your contact details to enable notification of the outcome.

The Council will consider all submissions, and a resolution will be made recommending that the Minister either:

i.   approves,

ii.  approves with modifications, or

iii. does not approve the readvertised Scheme Amendment.

The WAPC will again provide a recommendation to the Minister who will determination the amendment.
